OpenAI Chief Revenue Officer Denise Dresser disclosed that enterprise customers now account for more than 40% of total revenue, with paying business users reaching 9 million in February 2026, up from 5 million in August 2025. The company is generating approximately $2 billion per month and projects enterprise to reach parity with consumer subscriptions by the end of 2026. OpenAI attributes the acceleration to enterprises shifting from simple AI queries toward teams of agentic workflows embedded in business tools; its coding agent Codex crossed 3 million users from near zero at the start of Q1.
