Over 100 teams—nearly five times last year's entrant count—will race on a 21-kilometer course in Beijing's E-Town district on April 19, with roughly 40% of entrants using fully autonomous navigation. A full-scale overnight test run on April 11–12 identified common failure modes including overheating joints, motor faults, and rapid battery drain. Last year's inaugural event saw only 6 of 21 robots cross the finish line; this year adds endurance prizes and completion awards to incentivize finishing over speed.
