Project Prometheus, Jeff Bezos's physical AI startup, is close to closing a $10 billion funding round at a $38 billion valuation with JPMorgan and BlackRock as lead investors, according to the Financial Times. The company, led by CEO Vikram Bajaj (formerly of Google X), launched in November 2025 with $6.2 billion and builds AI systems that understand the physical world for engineering, manufacturing, robotics, aerospace, and drug discovery. This marks Bezos's first operational role at a technology company since leaving Amazon in 2021; the startup has grown to over 120 employees recruited from OpenAI, xAI, Meta, and DeepMind.
