NVIDIA announced Ising on April 14 (World Quantum Day), an open-source family of AI models targeting the two hardest problems in practical quantum computing: calibration and error correction. Ising Calibration is a 35B vision-language model that reduces processor tuning time from days to hours; Ising Decoding is a pair of 3D CNN variants that deliver 2.5× faster and 3× more accurate error correction than the pyMatching baseline. Weights, training code, and benchmarks are on GitHub and Hugging Face, and over 20 organizations—including Harvard, Fermi National Lab, and the UK National Physical Laboratory—are already adopting the models.
