Meta is rolling out an internal tool called Model Capability Initiative (MCI) that captures employees' mouse movements, clicks, keystrokes, and periodic screen snapshots while they work in certain apps, with the data used to train computer-use AI agents. The company says safeguards protect sensitive content and the data will not be used for performance evaluations. The move reflects a broader race to build training sets for AI that can operate computers autonomously, following similar data-collection approaches by other labs mining Slack archives and old startup communications.
