NEC Corporation announced on April 23 a strategic partnership with Anthropic, making it the company's first Japan-based global partner and deploying Claude and Claude Code to approximately 30,000 NEC Group employees worldwide. NEC will establish a Center of Excellence to build AI-native engineering teams and jointly develop domain-specific AI products for finance, manufacturing, cybersecurity, and local government customers in Japan. Claude is also being integrated into NEC's Security Operations Center services for enterprise cyber defense.
