Meta released Muse Spark on April 8, the first model from Meta Superintelligence Labs under chief AI officer Alexandr Wang. The natively multimodal reasoning model supports tool-use, visual chain-of-thought, and multi-agent orchestration; its Contemplating mode — which orchestrates parallel agent reasoning — scores 58% on Humanity's Last Exam. Meta reports the model reaches capabilities comparable to Llama 4 Maverick with "over an order of magnitude less compute," enabled by rebuilt training infrastructure and data pipelines developed with input from more than 1,000 physicians for health applications. The company plans to deploy Muse Spark across Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger, with a third-party developer API in development.
