During National Robotics Week (April 2026), NVIDIA released Isaac GR00T N1.6, an open reasoning vision-language-action (VLA) model for humanoid robots that integrates NVIDIA Cosmos Reason to convert natural language instructions into step-by-step action plans grounded in physical dynamics. GR00T N1.6 outperforms N1.5 on simulated manipulation benchmarks and on real bimanual robots including YAM, Agibot Genie-1, and Unitree G1. The model is available on Hugging Face and in the LeRobot library for fine-tuning and evaluation. Toyota Research Institute is using Cosmos world foundation models for state-of-the-art teleoperation data augmentation and navigation world model results. NEURA Robotics is launching a Porsche-designed Gen 3 humanoid using GR00T-enabled simulation workflows.
