Bloomberg reported that iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27, due this fall, will include an "Extensions" framework that lets users select Gemini, Claude, or other approved third-party models to power Siri, Writing Tools, and Image Playground directly from Settings. The change ends ChatGPT's status as the sole third-party integration. Users will be able to assign distinct voices to external models versus Apple's own system. Apple plans to announce the feature at WWDC on June 8, 2026.
